Here at Sea Kayak Adventures, we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our customers, staff and community during this COVID-19 pandemic. We will always follow government guidelines and the following guidelines may change at any time as we gather more information.
Level 1 – Sea Kayak Adventures will operate as normal. Please sign in with the NZ covid tracer app when you arrive.
Level 2 – To keep everyone safe we will require all customers to follow these guidelines:
- Everyone that comes on site, must sign in with either the NZ Covid Tracer App or on paper in our office.
- Stick to a 2m social distance between different bubbles.
- Only one bubble to be in SKA vehicles at a time
- No passengers in the passenger seat next to SKA drivers.
- Masks to be worn by all travellers in SKA vehicles.
- Double kayaks will not be shared with people from different bubbles.
- As with our staff, we ask that if you have any cold symptoms, you do not come on site and get tested where needed.
- Be kind, and keep smiling.
Also please be reassured that we will also be doing a few extra things behind the scenes to keep you as safe as we can.
- All kayaks, bikes and related equipment will be disinfected after every use. (This is on top of normal cleaning procedures)
- Our Office, Bathrooms and Vehicles will be cleaned with disinfectant after each group safety briefing.
Level 3 and 4 – Sadly, going kayaking, biking or walking is not an essential service. If Marlborough enters Level 3 or 4 restrictions, we will CLOSE. We will get in touch with all affected customers directly to organise new dates for your amazing trips.
Covid-19 Cancellation Refund Policy.
Regarding refunding trips, we have done our best to be fair to you as we love our customers, but we also need to be fair with ourselves so we can keep providing excellent service, keep staff employed and the lights on. If you want to discuss any of the following, please get in touch any time.
If you are unable to travel to the region because of Covid-19 travel restrictions, you will have the choice of any of the following options –
- Change the date of you trip with no admin fees or change of trip cost. (Valid for 12 months)
- Cancel the trip with more than 48 hours’ notice before trip departure, you can get a full refund. (Apart from accommodation costs, see below)
- Cancel the trip before departure but less than 48 hours’ notice, we will keep the 20% deposit.
- Cancel the trip within 12 hours of departure or No Show on the day you will be charged in full.
Bookings with lodge accommodation
If you have a booking with us that also includes lodge accommodation, we will do everything we can to work with you and the lodges to accommodate you. Each lodge have different policies, but we will follow these basic principles:
- Free transfer of room to a new date, subject to availability.
- There may be an extra cost if your room type changes from original booking.
- If you cancel more than 30 days before your trip there will be a full refund.
- If you cancel between 7 and 30 days, lodges will keep their 50% deposit.
- If you cancel less than 6 days before departure, you will be charged in full for your room.
